Walmart Pay is now available at all U.S. stores. Here’s what that means

The payment option debuted in December to select stores near Walmart’s headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.

The company said Wednesday that it’s already seeing 88% of Walmart Pay transactions come from repeat users, though Eckert said Walmart is hoping to acquire new customers with the feature, too. He wouldn’t say how many customers are using the service so far, but he says adoption is way up because of the national rollout.

Eckert was mum on whether Walmart Pay will ever integrate with third-party mobile wallets like Apple Pay.聽Walmart stores do聽not accept Apple Pay, the virtual wallet built into Apple devices. But there’s a possibility that people with Walmart Pay could add Apple Pay as a payment type within the Walmart app.

“We built Walmart Pay with flexibility in mind,” he聽says. “We continue to have discussions with several third-party wallets on how that might unfold.”
